For senior leaders preparing their business for a new wave of disruptive technology.

A new era of creative destruction and innovation is upon us. In this world of ever-increasing change and digital disruption, the so-called ‘VUCA’ environment, the need to move and adapt at pace has never been more pressing. This two-day masterclass will equip you with the knowledge and strategies to capitalise.

Future pioneers or relics of the past?

Industry leaders are taking advantage of new disruptive technologies to transform their products, services and operational models, creating new innovations and competitive advantages. However, many companies are being left behind, struggling with the age-old challenge of strategically aligning their organisation and, as a result, ending up caught in a doom-loop of short-termism, cost-cutting, employee disengagement and limited innovation.

Their lunch is about to be eaten by nimbler, hungrier and infinitely more agile competitors. Fifty years ago, the life expectancy of a firm in the Fortune 500 was around 75 years. Today, it’s less than 15 years and declining all the time. Companies such as Kodak, Blockbuster, RIM, Woolworths, Radio Shack and Yahoo were all once household names but now reduced to case studies of how not to run a business.

But does it have to be this way?  Are traditional companies cursed to fail, or can they make the leap from good to great in the 21st century? If so, how?

Winning in the 21st century

This two-day Masterclass is based on cutting-edge, forward-looking research from Manucore’s globally recognised thought leader, Sean Culey. Attendees will be introduced to the technologies that will have the greatest impact on their industries. They will learn how to assess their impact of and how their business can leverage them for future success.

  • Understand the impact of the oncoming wave of technology – from robotics, autonomous vehicles and 3D/4D printing, through to digitisation, AI, machine learning and the Internet of Things.
  • Determine which of the disruptive technologies will have the biggest impact on your industry
  • Empower you and your business to take advantage of the next wave of disruptive technology.
  • Learn how to drive greater customer centricity and develop value propositions that create competitive advantage. Gain deep insights into the business drivers, risks and rewards from preparing for disruption.
  • Understand how to develop the DNA of a digital organisation
  • Learn how to segment your business models and value chains around customer delight

Throughout the masterclass, a series of questions are posed, and interactive activities undertaken that require deep thought about these new technologies, what impact they are likely to have, whether they are an opportunity or a threat, and how your organisation can act to survive thrive in the coming years.

By the end of the two days, attendees will have a clear series of questions and actions to take back into their business, and the basis of a personalised action plan for the future.

  • Day 1 - Section 1: New Technologies

Creative Destruction in Action: The Rise of the PAL Supply Chain.

This opening section examines the nature of technological revolutions and the variety of different technologies that are disrupting business models, industries and economies.

We will examine how the wave of new technologies – robotics, autonomous vehicles, 3D and 4D printing, big data, the IoT and Artificial Intelligence – is rapidly changing every aspect of business, from sourcing materials to capturing real-time demand signals, and how this is creating the PAL (Personal, Automated and Local) Value Chain.

  • Day 1 - Section 2: New Challenges

The Triple Threat of Technological Convergence

This section explores the disruption that these technologies will cause, and what happens when they converge together.

It delves into the impact of disruptive technologies on industries, the rise of the sharing and subscription economy and how software is eating the world. You will examine how these disruptive technologies will impact your business model, and which technology is a threat, and which is an opportunity.

  • Day 2 - Section 3: New Thinking

Different realities need different thinking. Smart machines need smart people.

Day two will examine whether your business is structured for the 21st century. This will include a discussion on strategy, value chain segmentation, corporate culture, creating agile innovation teams and a workplace designed to attract and retain the talent of the future.

We will examine how to create customer-centric value propositions that create virtuous cycles for your business, but vicious circles for your competition. It includes an examination of how Amazon has used this techniques to disrupt the retail world.

  • Day 2 - Section 4: New Actions

Strategy needs execution. Innovation needs action.

This last section examines what your business needs to do to be ready for the next wave. It examines whether your company is able to change, break the curse of short-term thinking, achieve strategic alignment and overcome the status quo before it is too late.

Finally we will look at the leadership and people skills needed to traverse this change, and how to transform the workforce into T-shaped, agile teams focused on creating a culture of continuous execution.
